Pegged Pant Cuffs
I hope this wasn’t just a late ’80s California Central Valley thing, but I remember doing this in 6th & 7th grade. The funny thing is, I don’t really remember anyone telling me (or any of my friends) how (or why) to do it, we just did. Plus, now that I think about it, we must have looked awfully ridiculous. I guess that’s how it goes with most silly fashion trends, though…

“Pegged”, you wore your pants pegged. It happened in NorCal too. We even had the trend of using safety pins to pull the pants tight around your legs, AKA “Pinning”. Yes, I do feel stupid about it now.

Nice. I must have blocked the actual term from my memory. I’ll have to re-do this caption, too, now that I have the correct terminology. Plus, I just found this handy instructional diagram for anyone who missed out on the trend.

No stupider than the ridiculously flared bellbottoms we wore in the mid ’70s - or the clown-sized pants with the belt line below the buttocks my sixteen-year-old son wears now. I’m taking lots of pictures to embarrass him with in years to come…

ROFL… no we did that all the way in Maine too.

LOL
Actually, the boys wore them “pegged” all the way down in Georgia, too. Apparently that ridiculous trend swept the nation.
I always thought the boys looked rather silly.

I’m only 22, having grown up in the 90’s and I must say, I am GLAD I never caught this trend. But for Justme, I LOVE Bellbottoms. They are my favorite and most comfortable type of pants.
